Lab Thread Pricing

During your free trial you will have access to our Pro plan. At the end of your trial, you can either continue on the plan you originally signed up to, or depending on which features you found most useful, you can upgrade or downgrade based on your needs.

If you choose to downgrade your plan, but have used any of the features available only in the higher plans, this data will become read only. You will need to upgrade your plan to continue editing and benefiting from these additional features.

We hope you won’t, but of course you can! You don’t need to provide credit card details for the free trial, so if you cancel during or after that, there’s no penalty. Once you subscribe, you will be billed on sign up for the whole subscription period (one month or one year, depending on which billing plan you chose). If you choose to cancel, the cancellation will be effective as of the end of that billing period, and you will still have access to the platform until then. After your subscription is cancelled, you will still have read-only access to the platform for 12 months to enable you to export any data stored in the platform.

A seat is a user. With the exception of the free academic plan, which is limited to 5 seats, you can add as many seats as you like to your account. You can also change who “owns” each seat; for example if someone leaves the lab, and somebody new joins.

Upgrading from a core plan to core + or Pro will increase your storage capacity, from 100 GB to 500GB in Core + and 1000GB in Pro. If you need more storage capacity than this, please get in touch, so we can discuss a custom solution.

You can manage your subscription — add seats, switch plan, or cancel your subscription — at any time. Simply log into your account, and click on your initials in the top right corner. Scroll down to “Subscription” and take it from there.

New seats will be added immediately. Downgrades or cancellations will take effect at the end of your current subscription.

We’ll notify you before your 30 days is up. You can then choose to subscribe to the plan you initially chose, or transition to a different tier that better fits your laboratory’s needs.

We don’t believe in penalising success. Only the free academic-only plan has a limit on the number of seats per lab (5); all the other plans allow unlimited projects, and unlimited seats.

Each user’s storage capacity depends on the pricing plan. Core plans include 100 GB storage, Core + plans include 500 GB storage, and Pro plans include 1000 GB storage.

All our plans are 21 CFR part 11 compliant, however we only provide supporting documentation on the Pro plan.

Yes. You can import tabular data using downloadable import spreadsheets that you can modify and use to rapidly import hundreds of entries at once, so that you don't lose your data's "Digital Thread" during the transition.  You can also download data from most other platforms to archive as a PDF. However, when this isn’t sufficient, Lab Thread’s team will help with complex data migration.  We offer this as a free service for Pro plan holders with >5 seats who sign up for a minimum of a two year contract with Lab Thread. Yes. After a one month free trial that includes Lab Thread’s full functionality, academic users can choose to proceed with a free version of the software.

No. Lab Thread runs on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Architecture, but you do not need an Office 365 subscription to use Lab Thread.

Yes. Lab Thread subscribers are eligible for a 10% discount on all purchases from IDT (Integrated DNA Technologies). Once you have completed your free trial and started your paid (or free academic) plan, click on your initials in the top right hand corner of the app, and select Subscription to find the discount code.
